Marie François

Belgian pianist, Marie François, started to play the piano at the age of five. She finished her Bachelor degree, Summa Cum Laude, with Prof. Joop Celis at the Conservatory of Maastricht in 2015. In 2017 she finished her masters degree in Belgium with Prof. Alan Weiss. In june 2018 she graduated as a postgraduate student with Polina Leschenko.   She has already performed in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, Italy, Ukraine, UK and USA. Among those performances a concert in the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In 2015 she got invited to the B-Classic Festival in Belgium, in 2016 to the Miami Piano Festival and in 2018 to the Schiermonnikoog Festival in The Netherlands and Aurora Music Festival in Sweden. In September 2018 she performed the Grieg piano concerto twice with the state orchestra of Lviv, Ukraine.   François took part in masterclasses from Elisabeth Leonskaja, Jan Wijn, Alexander Melnikov, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Anton Nell, Alexander Moutouzkine, Peter Donohoe… She also took part in the Academia Chigiana in Siena for three years where she had lessons with Lilya Zilberstein. An artist who influences her outside of school is Sergio Tiempo.  Her debut CD will be released at the beginning of 2019.
